A photo can freeze time and tell compelling stories.
In this post, I will be telling and showing what I have learned about photography as an online student at Torrens University.
I am a mature-aged student who loves to take photos of sunsets and animals, as well as anything that I see that would make a great photo.
MODULE 1:
What I have learned so far.
I have learned the history of the camera and photography,
how and why to take RAW photos and their benefits,
we have learned about JPGs and TIFFs,
image sensors on our cameras, which ones we all have,
we now know which lens to use and what each camera lens produces,
the way to tell the size of your lens that suits your camera,
as well as different shooting modes.
Activities:
We were asked to go outside and pick a color (red)
to take a series of photos in that color,
also to set the camera to program and RAW,
drop these photos into a workbook, with details of what we captured.
I picked red as I live near an industrial area.
to introduce myself in discussion.
I am very new to university, and at 56, I never finished school. I only completed up to year 10 and some courses, so bear with me. I am learning something at uni all the time. Sometimes it's a bit tricky; the hardest part is learning how to get to class, and downloading the programs was confusing, but I figured it out eventually. I am enjoying the lectures and the work, especially taking photos.
